Robert “Bob” Weaver is an award-winning and nationally recognized Senior Executive who over the course of a 40 year distinguished career, served in a variety of leadership positions in the United States Secret Service (USSS), United States Supreme Court, Federal Bureau of Investigation and in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Following his career in government, Bob joined Argonne National Laboratory (ANL), Stroz Friedberg, SRA, G&H, Major League Baseball, PJM Interconnection, ICF International, Energetics and IBM as a Senior Principal Advisor to the DHS on a wide range of issues surrounding cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection and the formulation of policy.
Mr. Weaver has served in numerous senior leadership positions within the Secret Service including Team Leader of the USSS Counter Assault Team, the Vice Presidential Protection Division, Deputy Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Office and USSS Headquarters. Bob has unique and broad expertise in the information sharing, technology environments, private public partnerships, National Level Exercises, human, cyber/physical security, concerning the largest venues in the world.
He has been responsible for the security planning and coordination of protection for U.S. Presidents, Vice Presidents, Popes and Foreign Heads of State. Bob has successfully directed numerous and significantly complex security programs for the United Nations General Assemblies, Olympics, World Series and National Special Security Events.
Mr. Weaver, a World Trade Center 9/11 survivor, is perhaps best known for being the founder of the U.S. Secret Service, New York Electronic Crimes Task Force. This is a public-private partnership convening law enforcement, academia and private sector entities. The model he pioneered was implemented by the Secret Service and replicated in 35 key cities across the world, as well as, adopted by numerous foreign governments. This investigative tool and public-private partnership model was memorialized and remains relevant to this day as section 105 of the USA PATRIOT Act.
Bob’s current focus for ANL is at the DHS Office of Cyber and Infrastructure Analysis: Physical Cyber Integrated Analysis; Geospatial Services; Information Sharing; Coordinating Operational Linkages; Risk Prioritization; Quantitative-Qualitative Analysis; Strategic Planning – Communications; Intelligence and Operational Analysis. Bob joins the Sequoia Security Group (SSG) as a strategic advisor and business developer in all aspects of SSG’s cybersecurity, protective and investigative lines of business development.
